Hi Chrissy,

It only took roughly 30 minutes to set up. Since we have 2.5 acres we just had to identify a place in the house to put the transmitter in order to maximise the boudary of 1/2 acre. So a bit of trial and error with that. Next my husband went around with the collar in hand, once hearing the beep on the collar placing a white flag there. We have no more dog escaping problems at all. He has had 3 electrical shocks within about 4 days of set up and has quickly learnt that the beep on the collar means he needs to head back to the house - the safe zone.

I couldn't be more pleased with the system ... we should have invested in this sooner!!!

Helpful Tips For Bored Dogs

Many dogs are left at home all day with no stimulation .If a dog is left all day he needs stimulation and tasks to keep him busy, just as we do. Bored dogs can cause a disruption to every day life. They can often become nuisance barking dogs.

Some easy inexpensive things you can do to help your dog from boredom is

1. Put kibble in a used soft drink bottle. Leave the top off. It will take ages to eat.

2. Push doggy biscuits or treats into an apple. This will occupy you dog for ages, and fruit is healthy for dogs.

3. Cut a small hole on the side of a one litre milk bottle, near the bottom and put the kibble inside. Hang at nose height so the dog can tap it to let the food out.

4. You can use an old bone that's had the marrow eaten out of it. Put some marmite inside it and it will occupy the dog while she licks it clean.

Make sure you walk your dog for approximately 30 minutes a day. Exercised dogs are happy dogs.

Reduces the potential for the unit on the collar to malfunction (especially in wet conditions) in such as way that causes physical or emotional trauma to the dog.
